Take a look inside Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill, the newest restaurant to open at the Venetian. The Miami-born restaurant from Samba Brand Management is a sister of SushiSamba at the Grand Canal Shops.
New York City-based Parts & Labor Design created the slice of Old Havana inside the restaurant. Cuban architectural and design elements drape the interior with its organic textures, wrought-iron details and vintage lighting. The 1,922-square-foot, 103-seat restaurant features custom-designed furniture pieces, cane-back chairs, inlaid wood flooring, and tray ceilings trimmed in a rich red.
At the front, is a 67-seat seat bar and lounge area with a collection of rums. Guests look up to see a caning pattern generally found on Cuban furniture on the ceiling. A neighboring lounge is outfitted in sofas and chairs, with checkered concrete floors, overhead leaf fans, and bottom-painted louvered windows that open to the Venetian’s Restaurant Row. At the rear of the lounge, is a raw bar with the restaurant’s catch of the day.
The formal dining room features an open-style kitchen and robata grill with warm finishes and dark hues. A 535-square-foot private dining room has room for 30 to 50 people. Guests enter through sliding glass doors to find a room filled with Post Modern art and a custom-designed bar inspired by 1970s Cuba. Other design elements include a vintage brass chandelier, textured ceiling tile, and cigar press detailing.
